4G services to boost UAE’s economy by 0.3%

16 Nov 2011

(MENAFN) Ericsson Region Middle East and North Africa’s president, Anders Lindblad, said that 4G broadband services launched in the UAE could boost economy by 0.3 percent, reported Gulf News.

Lindblad added that UAE’s gross domestic product (GDP) would increase by USD690 million, in case the country doubled its broadband services speed since it would bring higher productivity for personal users and businesses who relied on their global connectivity via the internet.

He also said that the addition of high mobile penetration with faster connections would result in high efficiency that would help accomplish a larger workload.

It is worth noting that there will be around 50 billion devices connected by 2020, according to Ericsson.
