Abu Dhabi business events to add USD1.3b to economy

(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority said that by the end of the decade, business events in the capital would be forecasted to add USD1.3 billion annually to the economy, reported The National.

The authority added that over the period, economic impact of events including meetings and conferences is expected to grow 7 percent per year.

It also said that cheaper room rates are making Abu Dhabi more attractive as a destination for business events, adding that in the past few months, several hotels were launched in the emirate, giving more options for conference organizers.

It is worth noting that Abu Dhabi is investing a lot into its meetings and conference facilities, with the main focus on the USD2.17 billion Capital Centre exhibition district.
