(MENAFN) Consumer prices in Abu Dhabi increased to 2.2 percent in the Jan-May period of the year compared to the same period of 2016, helped by an increase in the prices of housing, water and others.
In addition, the average inflation rate amid the cited period was 2.16 percent with March seeing the highest inflation rate of 2.6 percent.
Moreover, housing, water, elect, gas and other fuel’s group reached the largest increase in the consumer prices amid the period, contributing 55.3 percent to the whole increase.
Currently, prices of transport in Abu Dhabi contributed 33.1 percent to the overall increase in consumer prices for the period, with prices of this category growing 5.3 percent year on year.
