(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Duty Free (ADDF) sales soared in the six months period ended June 30 of 2013 registering an increase by 17.4 percent hitting USD119.1 million in sales revenue, Emirates 24/7 reported.
This boost is cited to the increase in the Spend Per Passenger (SPP) which came at USD14.99 this year’s first half up from USD14.68; a 2.1 increase from the same period last year.
Passenger traffic growth at the Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) was lower than that of ADDF revenue sales with a 12.6 percent hike in this year’s first half.
“Revenue at Abu Dhabi Duty Free continues to outgrow passenger growth clearly due to the exclusive shopping options and wide variety of special offers available year-round to passengers,” Abu Dhabi Airports” Chief Commercial Officer Mohammed Abdullah Al Bulooki said.
