Abu Dhabi inflation rate in consumer prices hits 2.2pct

(MENAFN) The inflation rate in consumer prices for the first 4 months of this year in Abu Dhabi reached 2.2 percent, compared with the same period of last year.

Additionally, the increase was due to increases in housing, water, elect, gas and fuel prices which jumped to 3.7 percent in the cited period, compared to the same period in 2016.

Furthermore, in the cited month alone, consumer prices increased by 2.3 percent compared with April of last year, while prices were down 0.4 percent compared to March 2017.

The country contributed 56.4 percent of the whole increase of 2.2 percent in the cited period of this year compared with 2016, whereas Al Ain contributed 37.8 percent and Al Dhafra 5.7 percent.
