(MENAFN) The Abu Dhabi Airports Company’s (Adac) COO, Ahmad Al Haddabi, stated that last month’s passenger traffic climbed by 19.6 percent from 2012’s same period, to more than 1.3 million, reported Emirates 24/7.
Al Haddabi added that freight volume at Abu Dhabi International Airport jumped by 25 percent in January, reaching 48,875 tons.
Meanwhile, aircraft movements posted an on-year gain of 12.6 percent, to a total of 11,119.
In the month, the main 5 routes from the airport were Bangkok, London, Doha, Manila and Bahrain.
It is worth noting that expansion works on Terminal 1 are currently on the move, with the terminal expected to provide the needed extra capacity that will allow the airport to continue to deliver high quality services to all of its passengers.
