(MENAFN) The Statistics Center of Abu Dhabi (Scad) announced that the emirate’s inflation rose 1.1 percent during the January-April period compared with the same period a year earlier, reported Emirates 24/7.
The agency said that the largest contributor to the increase in consumer price index (CPI) was the “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” group, representing 73.9 percent of the total rise.
Moreover, the second largest contributor was the “Restaurants and hotels” group, which accounted for 38.7 percent of the increase.
It is worth noting that during the period, the “Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels” group declined 30.7 percent from the same period in 2011, with the average prices of the group dropping by 0.9 percent.
