Abu Dhabi sets up USD870mn solar power plant

(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi has launched an USD870mn project to build the globe’s largest independent solar power plant, which will position the emirate as the global capital for best economic.

Accordingly, the project translates the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Meanwhile, it will offer efficient alternatives for energy and to spread the UAE economy away from reliance on oil as the major source of income.

In addition, the deal will build and operate the 1.777MW plant was inked by Abu Dhabi Water and Elect Authority (Adwea) and the consortium of Japan’s Marubeni Corp.
