(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airlines reached an agreement with the Serbian Jat airways for the former to hold 49% stake in the Serbian airways by July 22, reported Arabian Business.
The agreement aimed at aiding the debt-soaked airlines, as an official from Jat stated that: “The agreement is expected to be signed on July 22 because everything has already been agreed upon. Our side has accepted Etihad’s offer. Since Jat is in bad shape we didn’t have much space to negotiate”.
According to the deal, Etihad has taken procedures to provide Jat with ten
Airbus A319s, in addition to opening new routes from Belgrade to many regions including the Middle East.
