Abu Dhabi’s TDIC to develop “The District” within Saadiyat project

(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) has launched a new project within the Saadiyat project, the Construction Week reported.

“The District” project will be erected, in partnership with L Real Estate, in Saadiyat island’s Cultural District, a retail complex sponsored by Louis Vuitton – Moet Hennessy.

The development will cover an area on the island of 168,000 sq m, and will comprise three levels, all above ground, delivering 168,000 sq m of leasable space and 550 plus units.

The detailed design work for the project will start in 2013, while construction is due to commence in 2014, with completion expected in 2017, in line with the opening of the Guggenheim museum.
