Accor’s Sofitel to open 6 new hotels in MEA in 2 yrs

(MENAFN) Sofitel Middle East, Africa and the Indian Ocean’s senior vice president, Sami Nasser, announced that over the coming 2 years, the luxury hotel chain will open 6 new hotels in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, reported Gulf News.

Nasser said that in 2013, the company will launch 2 new hotels in Dubai, located in Downtown Dubai and the Palm Jumeirah, comprising 350 rooms and suites, and 361 rooms and 182 serviced residences, respectively.

He added that the two properties will add more than 1,200 rooms to the UAE hotel pipeline.

Meanwhile, the firm’s two hotels in the Saudi cities of Riyadh and Makkah will be operational in 2015, while its Morocco property will open next year.

In 2013, Sofitel will open a hotel in Ivory Coast’s Abidjan city.

Furthermore, the brand of French Accor plans to launch hotels in major cities in Qatar and Kuwait in the coming few years.
