Air Arabia records 10% increase in passenger traffic in July

(MENAFN) Sharjah-based low-cost carrier Air Arabia reported a new record in passenger traffic in July, Arabian Business reported.

According to the airline’s data, 477,839 passengers flew with Air Arabia’s fleet last month, nearly 10 percent more than a year ago. The airline’s seat load factor stood at 85 percent.

The airline said it has witnessed a “steady increase” in passenger traffic since the beginning of this year.

Air Arabia transported 1.3 million passengers during the second quarter, an increase of over 15 percent from a year earlier.

The carrier reported a 31 percent increase in second-quarter profit to USD17.96 million year-on-year, and a 23 percent increase in quarterly revenue to USD215.6 million.
