(MENAFN) Aircrafts flying in Dubai skies rose by over 7 percent in the six months period ended June 30, The National reported.
Movements from both Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central (DWC) will reach 375,000 this year and up to 665,000 in 2020, The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) expects.
In 2011, aircraft movements in Dubai skies reached 325,000 going up from 307,283 in 2010. Last year movements reached 344,656.
This increase causes congestions and many flight delays. The director-general of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), said: “The first phase of the UAE Airspace enhancement program ” is focused on assessing current air traffic operations and management at airports and in airspace, and to provide suitable recommendations and solutions.”
