Almost 50pct of Bahrain’s firms owned by foreign investors

(MENAFN) Around 40 to 50 percent of recorded corporate entities in Bahrain are owned by foreign investors, either in the form of full ownership or as part of joint ventures.Accordingly, the total number of recorded companies in the GCC States reached almost 50.000 this year.The BBCI Asian Traders Committee organized an investment forum in the kingdom this month, which will include 17 Asian embassies.The forum plans to stimulate investment in the kingdom and recent legislation which recently confirmed 50 percent foreign ownership in contracting industries.
