Alstom wins contract to supply generators for Shuqaiq plant

(MENAFN) France-based Alstom has been awarded with a USD227 million contract to provide steam turbine generators for the Shuqaiq power plant in Saudi Arabia, Saudi Gazette reported.
Alstom would have to supply four 720MW steam turbine generators expected to be operational by 2017.
Also, under the contract, the company will be in charge of engineering, manufacturing, supply and field services for generators as well as taking all direct control and auxiliary systems.
The Shuqaiq plant, located on the Red Sea, is expected to become one the world’s most efficient heavy fuel oil run power plant.
