Annual cost of traffic accidents in Jordan hit USD2bn

(MENAFN) The annual cost of traffic accidents in Jordan reached USD2bn, accounting for 5.59 percent of the GDP, as stated Transport Minister.

Moreover, the numbers were proclaimed at a ministerial committee meeting to follow up on the installation of strategic transport projects.

In addition, the projects involve the regulation of land transport drivers’ professional qualifications, which plans to launch a national system to train truck, public cars and others.

The project will also contribute to establish a safe transport system in line with global legislation and is aiming to boost the credibility of the Jordanian land transport sector.
