Apex, Methodist Hospital enter in partnership for health complex in Oman

(MENAFN) Apex Medical Group, a unit of Saudi Al Joaib Holding, has signed a partnership deal with Methodist International, a subsidiary of US-based Methodist Hospital, to jointly develop and run a healthcare complex in Salalah, Oman, Arab, the company said in a press release.

The International Medical City (IMC) project, previously known as The Medical City (TMC), is under development in strategic partnership with the Ministries of Tourism and Health in Oman since 2009.

Located East of Salalah, the IMC will offer a comprehensive continuum of specialised medical and surgical services, a rehabilitation and diagnostic centre of excellences.

The IMC development will comprise of a state-of-the-art diagnostic centre, a healthcare resort and a healthcare education complex. Furthermore, the IMC will also feature a luxury hotel, wellness centre, and free medical and educational community support services to poor families.

Methodist International will set up the management and operation system of the tertiary care hospital including the recruitment and training of hospital C-suite staff.

Methodist International will be involved in a 10 year affiliation focused on quality, training and knowledge transfer management.

Dr Abdulla Al Joaib, president of Al Joiab Group said that through this partnership IMC will offer training opportunities to Omani doctors and nurses in the Methodist Hospital system in Houston, Texas.
