Arab countrys GDP grew 4.8 pct

(MENAFN) A report by the Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (ESCWA) said that the Arab countries” annual gross domestic product (GDP) growth accelerated to 4.8 percent in the 2012-2013 fiscal year, Qatar News Agency reported.

ESCWA Chief Economist and Director said: “This high rate was achieved despite the geopolitical problems in the region, particularly the Syrian conflict, thanks to the swelling oil prices and revenues.”

The report released by ESCWA aims at assessing Arab economies as well as address important policy agendas in the region.
