Arabtec bags USD1.5b Jordan deal

(MENAFN) Dubai-based Arabtec Holding announced that it won a USD1.55 billion contract for building a resort in Aqaba in southern Jordan, Arabian Business reported.

The project is being developed by an international fund called Red Sea Astrarium LP, and will include a manmade lagoon, four hotels and entertainment facilities in addition to a 4D cinema, a water park and a Star Trek-themed attraction.

The resort is set to create around 4,000 jobs when it opens. Construction is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of this year.
