At least 59.4pct of Egyptians pay 25pct of income to rent homes

(MENAFN) 59.4 percent of households would pay more than 25 percent of their monthly salary to rent a median priced home at a value of EGP800.

Furthermore, almost half of households at 49.2 percent would not be able to buy the median home, which at EGP225.000 exceeded the House Price to Income ratio of 6.6.

Additionally, about 3.2 percent of households live without secure tenure, while the rural Delta governorate of Gharbeya had the highest portion at 93 percent.

Meanwhile, almost 17 percent of Egyptian households are deprived of access to safe water, which is in Upper Egypt, where deprivation ranges from 19 percent to 46 percent.
