Bahrain- Alba’s 2012 output hits new record high

07 Jan 2013

(MENAFN) Aluminum Bahrain’s (Alba) CEO, Tim Murray, stated that the company’s output grew by 8,907 metric tons to 890,217 metric tons per annum (mtpa) in 2012, from 881,310 mtpa a year earlier, reported Arabian Business.

Murray said that the new record high was attributed to Alba’s commitment to enhance its operations, and at the same time, the company didn’t incur any considerable extra capital expenditures.

The company’s high-grade aluminum product range comprises standard and T-ingots, extrusion billets, rolling slab, properzi ingots and molten aluminum, which are produced to high purity standards that surpass 99.9 percent.

Alba, which is 69-percent owned by Mumtalakat, the Bahraini sovereign wealth fund and 20 percent by the Saudi government, owns the fourth-largest aluminum smelter in the world.
