(MENAFN) Bahrain awarded a USD26.32 million contract for the second enabling works package of the Bahrain International Airport (BIA) passenger terminal building, Gulf Daily News reported.
The contract was awarded to G P Zachariades Engineering and Construction Company. The enabling works schedule follows on from the signing of the first enabling works package last February.
The Airport Modernization Program makes part of the country’s long-term strategy to develop aviation infrastructure and industry capabilities to sustainably serve the needs of the future.
“The ministry anticipates the awarding of seven additional contracts by the end of the year, at a combined value of more than USD789.86 million,” Transportation and Telecommunications Minister said.
