(MENAFN) Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) is expected to exceed the 2011 production of 881,310 metric tonnes, Gulf Daily News reported, citing Chairman Mahmood Al Kooheji.
Kooheji said “This year has been a volatile one for the aluminium industry,” while announcing the launch of the Line 6 bankable feasibility study.
“However, even in the face of tough market conditions Alba has remained resilient by bolstering its operational performance,” he added.
The Line 6 expansion project targets an additional capacity of 400,000 metric tonnes, which would bring Alba’s total production to 1.3 million metric tonnes per year.
