(MENAFN) The second terrestrial link between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, The King Hamad Causeway, is predicted to deliver an important increase to Bahrain’s retail, industrial, and residential markets, Gulf Daily News reported.
The daily average volume of the existing 25km King Fahad Causeway is 50.000 vehicles, with the total number of crossings reaching 19 million during 2013, an increase by 12 percent compared to 2012.
Bahrain’s residential market is expected to experience a boost on the long-term due to more traffic flowing in from Saudi Arabia, especially during the weekend where tourist traffic is expected to grow because of the new causeway.
Meanwhile, although Bahrain serves as a critical logistics hub for the central Gulf, the new causeway will further strengthen attractiveness for logistics and industrial occupiers looking for additional hubs in the region, aside from Dubai.
