Bahrain’s personal cargo market to grow 20% annually

(MENAFN) Bahrain’s Pan Gulf Logistics’ managing director, Mohammed Khalid Ashoor, announced that the country’s personal cargo market is projected to expand by between 15 and 20 percent annually, reported Gulf Daily News.

Ashoor attributed the expected growth to the growing number of expatriates, who account for almost half of Bahrain’s population, and receive high salaries.

He said that at the current time, the personal cargo market is the country’s fifth largest export division.

The managing director noted that regarding new shipping related business, in 2 years; the personal cargo business is expected to become the country’s market leader.

It is worth noting that Pan Gulf Logistics, the logistics arm of Bahrain’s Horizon International Group, inked an agreement with Sri Lanka’s Ceylon Shipping Lines, a cargo consolidator for personal baggage, to enlarge its service network.
