Bank assets in Qatar grow by 10.9pct in July

(MENAFN) Bank assets in Qatar increased 10.9 percent year on year in July to QR1.3tr, compared to an increase of 11.6 percent in June.

Additionally, domestic assets increased 10.3 percent year on year in the cited month from 12.4 percent in the previous month.

Meanwhile, bank deposits grew by 12.8 percent year on year in July compared to 12.7 percent in June, while public sector deposit increase accelerated to 37.1 percent.

Furthermore, the Qatar Central Bank had raised its deposit rate by 0.25 percent to 1.5 percent after the U.S. Fed Reserve hiked rates in March.
