(MENAFN) Bahrain-based Batelco, a leading telecom group, and the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA), launched Batelco Gulf Network (BGN), which will provide high bandwidth and capacity.
Batelco Bahrain CEO and GCCIA CEO inked the business agreement at a ceremony that took place at Batelco’s Hamala Headquarters.
The BGN cable system will run over the GCCIA power grid, providing connectivity to all GCC countries, a report said.
It’s worth mentioning that the terrestrial fiber cable, which spans 1,400 km, is controlled by Batelco, giving the Company full access, control and manageability.
