BMW, Mini ME sales up 6% in Q1

(MENAFN) BMW Group Middle East said that during the first quarter, sales of BMW and Mini vehicles rose 6 percent from 2011’s same period to 4,936 units, reported Gulf News.

The group added that the highest volume selling model was the BMW X5 sports activity vehicle with 1,138 cars sold, followed by the BMW 5 series, which sold 1,044 cars.

It also said that sales of Mini also surged 67 percent across 9 Middle East markets, reaching 351 cars.

The German carmaker said that the largest market was the UAE, representing 51 percent of the group’s Middle East’s sales in the quarter.

It is worth noting that sales in Lebanon surged by 41 percent, in Qatar by 30 percent, in Kuwait by 22 percent and in Saudi by 8 percent.
