(MENAFN) The Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce stated that Brazil’s imports of metals from the Arab world in 2012 soared 138 percent to USD83.72 million from USD35.18 million in 2011, reported Emirates 24/7.
The chamber, which has been in operation for over 60 years, said that in the period, Arab countries imported USD133.90 million worth of metals from the South American country.
The UAE was the largest importer of Brazilian metals among the Arab countries in 2012, with total metal imports standing at USD43.19 million, followed by Saudi Arabia with USD35.74 million and Egypt with USD15.06 million.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia was the top Arab exporter of metals to Brazil, with USD37.34 million worth of metal exports, followed by Bahrain with USD30.61 million, and the UAE with USD4.73 million.
