Business tourists cover one third of GCC visitors

(MENAFN) Business tourists in the GCC cover one third of all tourists in the area, which is a high number when compared with statistics that suggests 2 percent of global exhibitions.

Accordingly, Middle East market has grown fast in the GCC and especially in Dubai, which in 2015 held almost 72 percent market share of the USD 1.3bn.

Additionally, outbound travel from the Middle East reached almost 37mn people for 2014 and accounted for 3.3 percent of the international outbound market.

The average spend by luxury travelers from the MENA region is USD 8.310 while the average length of the trip is 5.1 nights, while there will be challenges need to be addressed.
