(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Development & Investment Company’s chief development officer, Nabil al-Kendi, stated that construction works on the emirate’s Louvre museum will start in 2013’s first quarter, reported Arabian Business.
Al-Kindi said that originally, the branch of Paris’ world-famous museum was scheduled to open between 2013 and 2014, however, it was postponed as a result of a government review of projects.
He added that the museum, along with the branch of New York’s Guggenheim museum and New York University, will be located on the capital’s USD27 billion Saadiyat Island.
It is worth noting that the three projects will be housed next to a golf course and high-end housing developments.
