(MENAFN) The construction sector in Saudi Arabia is a key component of the country’s economy development as projects worth a total of USD159 billion are underway or in the planning, Arab News reported
A report titled “Saudi Arabia 2013” released by Oxford Business Group in cooperation with Saudi authorities said that 742 new schools and 40 colleges are under construction in the Kingdom, while 17 new hospitals are being added and 130 under redevelopment.
Also, new roads being laid total at 4,000 km, and new rail projects will add 7,000 km.
“Indeed, the Kingdom is the envy of the region, eyed covetously by contractors elsewhere,” the report said.
