Conventional bank’s total credit in Oman grows by 3.9pct

(MENAFN) The whole credit of Omani conventional banks increased 3.9 percent to OMR18.1mn by the end of June this year, while its overall investments in securities grew by 8.5 percent.

Moreover, investment in government securities, involving government development bonds, government sukuk and others, grew by 0.7 percent.

Meanwhile, aggregate deposits with conventional banks increased by 2.7 percent to OMR18.7mn in June this year from OMR18.2mn a year ago.

In addition, total deposits held with Islamic banks and windows also posted a notable growth to OMR2.7mn in June this year, up from OMR1.8mn.
