Deals worth USD2.4 m date festival

20 Aug 2013

(MENAFN) Deals worth more than USD2.4 million were signed in the first five days of the Buraidah seasonal date market in Saudi Arabia, Arab News reported.

CEO of Buraidah Date Festival, Khaled Al-Naqeedan, said this season might be the longest due to low temperatures and that the festival will peak at the end of the month.

The dates in the festival come from farms in the Qassim Province and surrounding governorates. “Qassim Province is abundant with date farms where temperatures are significantly low,” Al-Naqeedan said.
