(MENAFN) The average annual growth in demand for natural gas power generation will increase at 3 percent for the coming seven years amid the Main Interconnected System areas in Oman.
However, whole natural gas consumption at the main power plants last year fell 4 percent to almost 7.01bn standard cubic meters, which is equivalent to 19.4mn standard cubic meters.
Accordingly, the reduction of 4 percent increase in natural gas needs contrasts with the 4 percent increase in elect generation over the same period.
Meanwhile, this improvement comes from transmission grid upgrades that enabled better access to the most efficient generation plants.
