Dow Chemical plans a coating materials plant in Saudi Arabia

(MENAFN) Dow Chemical Co. unveiled plans to invest in a new manufacturing plant in Jubail Industry City in Saudi Arabia, AP reported.

The US chemical maker giant said it plans to set up a plant to produce coating materials for use in the kingdom as well as for exporting purposes.

The investment is not the first in the Gulf oil-rich country as Dow agreed with Saudi Aramco in July to create a the Sadara Chemical Co. to build and run a petrochemical plant in Jubail.

Dow also recently announced plans to invest in a manufacturing plant for Dow Filmtec Reverse Osmosis elements in Saudi Arabia.

The company’s Dow Coating Materials division supplies products and technologies to architectural and industrial coatings manufacturers. It runs 43 plants worldwide and has 13 research and development facilities.
