(MENAFN) Dubai’s DP World held its decision against the global protests over the workers rights of better pays and conditions at London Gateway, as the Dubai-based port operator refused to engage in negotiations with workers’ representative, reported Business Arabian.
The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), representing the workers’ union, called for a global action in September to convince DP to negotiate.
Meanwhile, DP World spokesperson defended that: “We require our business units to fully respect the rights of our people, including their right to choose whether to join a union or to adopt collective bargaining”.
