Dubai- 24 projects worth USD7m to help poor families in Ramadan

(MENAFN) Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment’s Vice-Chairman of the board of trustees, Ibrahim Bumelha, stated that during the holy month of Ramadan, the establishment will execute 24 projects to help the needy in almost 19 countries, reported Khaleej Times.

Bumelha said that the cost of the projects is about USD7 million, which includes providing Iftar and basic food for poor families during the month.

The programs cover around 3,250 families in the UAE, mainly the Northern Emirates, with a cost of USD6 million, whereas USD816,560 were allocated to help the needy in Somalia, Gaza and other countries.

Moreover, the establishment collected USD5.17 million for the Zakat project, and the amount is being given out to 4,867 UAE families.

He added that donations will be distributed to families registered with the establishment, while the establishment will visit those who are registering to ensure they need help.

It is worth noting that The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment inked a deal with Lulu Hypermarket for the distribution of USD544,373 worth of vouchers of USD217 and USD136 each to 3,250 UAE families.
