(MENAFN) Dubai Airports said that last month, passenger traffic grew 8.9 percent from 2010’s 4.07 million to 4.43 million passengers, reported Emirates 24/7.
It added that the bulk of travelers were from the GCC, increasing 134,491 passengers from last year’s same period, followed by travelers from the Indian subcontinent, with a rise of 77,375 and Russia and the CIS, which was up 69,786.
It also said that aircraft movements in November rose 8.5 percent from the 26,823 movements that were recorded in 2010’s same period to 29,093, whereas flight movements in the year’s first 11 months went up by 6 percent from 2010 to 296,799.
It is worth noting that freight handled during the month declined 0.4 percent from last year’s same period of 192,405 tons to 191,658 tons, while those handled during the Jan-Nov period fell 1.7 percent from 2,033,828 tons handled in last year’s same period to 1,999,898 tons.
