(MENAFN) Dubai International Airport recorded a 23.2 percent jump in passenger traffic in May reflecting runway maintenance a year earlier, the operator of the world’s busiest airport by international traffic said, Arab News reported.
Traffic rose to 6.27 million passengers from 5.09 million while flights jumped by almost 50 percent, Dubai Airports said.
Growth was powered by the Indian subcontinent and by additional connections to Eastern Europe started by flydubai and Emirates.
The airport was reduced to one runway in 2014 during maintenance which lasted 80 days.
