(MENAFN) Dubai Airports’ passenger traffic registered a 15.4 percent growth in March from a year earlier, Bloomberg reported.
The state-owned facility, home to Emirates Airline, said that number of passengers passing through the airport rose to 4.85 million from 4.2 million a year earlier.
Cargo volumes also climbed 0.3 percent to 186,417 tons from a year ago, Dubai Airports added.
CEO Paul Griffiths attributed the growth to the new routes that were added and increased flight frequencies that are building on the attraction of Dubai as a premier leisure and business destination and a convenient connecting point for global travelers.
