Dubai- DWC posts 7.8% gain in Q1 cargo volumes

(MENAFN) Dubai Airports’ CEO, Paul Griffiths, stated that cargo volumes at Dubai World Central (DWC) rose by 7.8 percent during the January-March period to 53,974 tons, reported Emirates 24/7.

Griffiths added that the volume is compared with the 50,062 tons handled by the facility in last year’s same period.

In the quarter, air traffic movements reached 4,104, showing a climb of 16.8 percent from the 3,513 movements recorded a year before.

It is worth noting that DWC will start passenger operations on October 27, 2013.
