(MENAFN) Dubai Electricity and water Authority’s (Dewa) Managing Director and Cheif Executive Officer, Mohammed Al Tayer, stated that the company awarded the USD3.81 million contract for a main water SCADA system project, reported Emirates 24/7.
The CEO also said that the project includes the commissioning and supply of a main SCADA system for water to remotely control all data and monitor the main water network in the emirate.
Al Tayer added that the project will contribute to the isolation of leakages in the shortest possible time to reduce water losses in the main transmission network that previsouly had not been accounted for.
It is worth noting that the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) was formed in January 1992 by a decree issued by Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum to take over and merge the Dubai Electric Company and the Dubai Water Department that had been operating independently for several years until then.
