Dubai exports surpass USD816m in 2011

(MENAFN) Dubai Exports’ CEO, Engineer Saed Al Awadi, said that last year, the value of exports from the emirate that were realized through the agency surpassed USD816 million, reported Emirates 24/7.

Al Awadi added that of the 42 export transactions facilitated by Dubai
Exports, which is the export promotion agency of the Department of Economic Development, 35 percent were new deals, whereas 50 percent of the deals were won by new exporters.

He also said that 61 percent of exports went to countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), followed by Africa, with 35 percent of total exports.

It is worth noting that 95 percent of net exports were food products, electronics and petrochemicals.
