(MENAFN) Dubai’s hotels revenues recorded a 22 percent increase to USD2.67 billion during the first six months of 2012, official WAM news agency reported.
According to data from the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai (DTCM), the figure was a result of 5,027,223 guests visiting the Gulf emirate during the first half of the year, a 10 percent increase from a year earlier.
Khalid Bin Sulayem, Director General of DTCM, said Dubai saw a 10 percent increase in hotel guests in the period totalling some 3,982,615 guests, compared to 3,626,960 guests a year earlier.
Dubai’s hotel apartments’ guests saw a 9 percent growth to 1,044,608 guests in the same period, versus 958,059 guests a year ago.
Guest nights of Dubai’s hotels and hotel apartments in the period increased by 18 percent year-on-year to 19,209,370 nights.
The average length of stay in Dubai hotels and hotel apartments also increased by 8 percent to 3.8 nights in the first half compared to 3.5 nights in the same period last year.
