Dubai hotels revenue per room drops by 16.1 percent

(MENAFN) Revenue in Dubai per room declined by 16.1 percent in April compared with a year earlier to reach USD 167.46mn during the month.

Moreover, the average daily rate fell down by 15.4 percent to USD 210.11mn, as occupancy decreased by almost 1 percent to 79.7 percent.

On the other hand, the supply of rooms increased by 6.1 percent, while demand grew by a smaller 5.2 percent last month.

In addition, more than 1,000 hotel rooms in the mid-market sector opened last year, with the room count standing at 82,760 at the end of March.
