Dubai Int’l Airport records 11.4% rise in Feb passenger traffic

(MENAFN) Dubai Airports CEO, Paul Griffiths, announced that passenger numbers at Dubai International Airport in February grew by 11.4 percent to 5.1 million, reported Arabian Business.

Griffiths said that year-to-date, passenger traffic increased 13 percent to 10.6 million.

Meanwhile, aircraft movements reached 27,058, with a rise of 3.8 percent from a year before.

He added that the fastest-expanding market was Eastern Europe, which registered a gain of 29.6 percent, followed by Asia-Pacific, up by 21.8 percent, and Russia and CIS by 18.5 percent.

The CEO noted that in the month, cargo volumes to and from the airport posted a growth of 15.9 percent to 182,580 tons.

It is worth noting that Dubai Airports expects 2013 passenger traffic to hit 65.4 million.
