(MENAFN) Dubai Customs said that bilateral trade between Dubai and Kuwait witnessed a growth by more than 6 percent to reach USD2.80 billion during the January-June period of this year, with imports totaling USD626.01 million and exports reaching USD653.22 million, Emirates 24/7 reported.
Dubai Customs said that the growth in the Dubai-Kuwait trade comes following its growth by 19 percent in 2013 to reach USD5.14 billion, with both sides hoping that the growth in trade would continue to increase between them.
Dubai Customs also said that they are hoping to reinforce inter-GCC cooperation and exchange of expertise with Kuwait as well as with its other GCC neighbors including potentially collaborating in custom business.
“Dubai continues to support the growth of inter-GCC trade through high-end trading and customs facilities and services backed by steady investment in infrastructure,” The Director of Dubai Custom said.
