Dubai Metro to expand fleet by 50 new trains

16 Jul 2017

(MENAFN) The Emirati Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that new set of trains will be joining Dubai’s Metro to help in serving two existing lines.

As currently there are 79 trains serving the red and green lines, the new 50 trains will serve Dubai Metro fleet, 35 will serve the existing lines, while 15 will operate on Route 2020.

The French firm Alstom will manufacture the new trains, as it built the trains for Dubai Tram, and it will feature an exterior similar to existing trains.

This investment came after the visit by a high-level RTA team to France.
