(MENAFN) Dubai has announced that it plan to transform its metro stations into museums of arts and innovation to inspire travelers and make them enjoy the arts, according to Arab News.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, said the project is expected to be completed in 2015 in time for Art Dubai 2015.
The first phase of the project will include four metro stations to be remodeled inside and out with designs, artworks and installations on distinct themes.
Sheikh Mohammed said: “We want to stimulate the creativity of every employee commuting to work, every student traveling to study, and every tourist experiencing our city. We will provide artistic environments that excite and motivate every individual.”
